Joy with Nikons

I've been a Nikon fan my whole life. Around a bunch of Canon lovers I stick out like a leper and Leica worshipers call the men in white jackets if they see me. My first one was a N2000. An excellent starter camera that began my addiction with Nikon optics. I'm a firm believer that there's no such thing as having too many lenses. So when the Earth shifted and digital cameras came into being I held off. What I could afford wasn't impressive and I'd be stuck with a fixed lens. Eventually I caved and bought a Coolpix 5000 and wasn't that impressed. It felt like a toy and moved at such a glacial speed that it wasn’t good for anything but landscape. A Nikon should have heft. It wasn't meant to be ignored. I drooled over the D70 the minute I saw it. Have you ever seen some new device and knew you not only needed it, it would change you're life. Turned on immediatly. Didnt fuss and hesitate when I hit the shutter.
