Eating Well

Occasionally I forgo the junk food and soda and treat myself. A nice steak, some wine, and a decadent piece of cake. Maybe after dinner brandy if I'm feeling like a robber-baron. What is a treat to me is standard fare for some people. Billionaire people like Roman Abramovich. He ran up a $47,000 bill eating in Manhattan. There's a $15,000 bottle on the receipt! This is decadence of a level I can only imagine. And envy.

Milky Way Portraiture

Images of space are some of the most amazing things caught on film, or at least a CCD. They're colorful, fantastical, and best of all real. This one showing the Milky Way was made by Axel Mellinger from Central Michigan University. It was made by stitching together 3000 images.

Deconstucted Princesses

I sometimes wonder if anyone at Disney ever attempts to look at the big picture. Not the bottom line of course, we know they always keep that in sight, but how they portray life for future generations. Isn't it enough that they've pretty much done away with motherhood? Unless it's evil step-motherhood of course. But when you start deconstructing their Princesses it all becomes even more disturbing. A bit humorous maybe, but very true.
